January 2023 first post

 Hello stitchers! 

Welcome to my first post of the new year!

Let's start with SQ, that's got some well deserved attention and love in the last few days of 2022.
I started this cross stitch project the 1st of January, 2017 and it has a long way to go before it will be finished, but that's not so important at the moment since i always enjoy stitching the Queen, never feeling the burn out.
Let's only hope that soon she will be finished, washed, ironed and then framed and hung on the wall.
What follows is the most recent pic I took of this colorful wip, that's filling with varing pink and red hues. 

For WWAVMC, let's just say that, while SQ was out of the drawer, the main focus project of the last year was a bit overlooked on. Don't worry! The stitching will be finished hopefully in a short span of time. I'm assuming at worst the first days of the coming February.

I completed more than 243000 stitches and completed 141 colors out of 234. Not bad, if i say so myself...

Last but not least, i got happy mail! I oredered and present myself the 35 skeins of the "newest" colors that DMC put on the market in 2017. I got the package from a great deal on AliExpress, amd i'm not scared to say, or write, it.
The colors are lush and shiny and match the originals; the softness of the skeins are incomparable to those of the French brand. I'm quite pleased with what i received.

Less than 5%!

 Hello fellow stitchers out there!

It's been quite a while since i last update my blog.
As we near the end of this eventful 2022, i can only watch the past months and see what i've accomplished, not only stitching-wise. It's beeen new, hectic, fun at times and other tiring and hurtful, but nonetheless it's was of growth.

 As per this post's title, I've almost completed my third big HAED, but not quite. I had to slow down and i fell a little behind on my time plan, but that's ok. If I'm lucky, I'll have time to stitch in the coming year.
I'm looking forward to next week, when i'll have four, yes, 4 days all by myself and WWAVMC! 

Now I'll show you what, or better, where I am at the moment wit this wip:

The most left part of the chart is fully completed, the book is done and what's left (sorry for the play on words!) are the remaining windowsill, the two little confetti-filled flowers, the vase and the right curtain. Ok, that may seems like a lot, but it's only less than the 5% of the overall progect. I've surpassed the 240000 stitches mark and completed 130 colors out of 234. That's amazing, right? In less than 11000 stitches there are still so many different hues and colors to use. Who knows which one will be the next color that will be completed?

October small update.

 Hello stitchers!

I'll be short with this update.
I'm here today to show you my most recent pic of my wip.

As usual, it's Window With A View MC that gets the spotlight.

I really, really like how the water reflects the trees and the castle... The swan and duck too! Near the seagull (i think it's one of them) there's a brown animal... What do you think it is? A cat? A big one? 

Oh! I've finished the 8th color of the project. Many more colors are still new on the bobbins, waiting impatiently to be used. I don't know if i'll finish some other color while stitching the current diagonal because i forgot to search the pattern for the little-numbered colors before starting it... It will be a surprise!

Start of September update.

Hello stitchers, how have you ben this summer?
Was it strange like the last one?

I've got some free time to dedicate at my main focus project, WWAVMC.

In the last days a diagonal has been completely stitched.
The book on the windowsill is taking shape as more colors were added. Aren't the pages cute?
And then I've started another diagonal right away, finishing the boat at the centre of the picture.
Then i was on a roll and had a good amount of stittches done in a couple of days. I'm amazed at what i accomplished despite the confetti stitching slowing me down a bit. I have a love/hate relationship with those little crosses representing the flowers but when i look  at the pics i take, i keep liking them more and more. 

I'll show you some pics now...

I can't wait to see more of the design coming to life, i need to speed up my pace and getting some good stitching done in the upcoming weeks. 


Lastly, Spiders Queen also came back out and were added some colors on it.
It may looks like not much was done, but it was only one stitching session and a progress, no matter how small is better than nothing.

I don't have other stitchy plans at the moment in regards of the Autumn-Fall/Winter season. What about you?

End of June.

Hello stitchers!

I'm back with another update... Yes, so soon since the last because i don't know when i'll be able to post again in the upcoming month.

I'm going to show you the progress on WWAVMC.

Here there's the wip with a finished diagonal.

I've reached 151.030 crosses on this wip and i still have today to add some other crosses and colors.

If you look closesly, you can see the slope of terrain that enclose the water stream. I can't wait to stitch it.

Hello stitchers!

Since the last post many things have changed and many others are still the same.

I've been MIA and had to take a month-ish long hiatus from stitching (that's sad, i know), but now i'm back at it and i feel better.

You may think what the title means, right?
Well, while stitching in the first days of this hot June, I've come across the last stitches of a beautiful DMC color, 3814 and thanks to PK i know now that I have my first "0" on the first Max Colors of my stitchy life.

I'll show you one of the most recent pics i took of WWAVMC, with other diagonals completed:

 

Not to brag, but i think that's coming along pretty well. What do you think?

This is where i'm right now, with 149930 stitches completed.

The flower bush (or bushes?) are full of confetti stitches as flowers of varing dimensions colors and brightness. It's slowly going but what i didn't relize was the size of said bushes. They look pretty big overall.

 

Now i have to go, i want to stitch for a bit while i can. I need to make up for lost time on this wip.

Bits of progress.

 Hello stitchers!

I'm here today to show you my overall progress for the month of March.
I stitched a bit less than what i would have liked, but there is still some more crosses than there were before, so it's alright.

Le's start once again with WWAVMC, my main focus project that is still screaming at me for attention. 

I stitched 300 crosses on seven diagonals going right because i felt i needed a change from all the greens, grays, browns and pinks. I took this little detour from the classic diagonals and was fully immersed in a world of colorful flowers (it's confetti filled but the beauty of the result was so worth it, in my opinion). 

In the pic above it was the end of last month, a week later I'm here, with another diagonal completed and a new one started:

As for Spiders Queen I've got nothing much to show, but a very small progress pic.

Added some of oranges for the hair, pink and dark colors to fill the empty spaces in the mask.

First post of the new year.

 Hello stitchers!

Here I am today to present you the newest update on my, once again, stitchy project.

Last week i reached the halfay pont on WWAVMC, but I've got to post about it only now. Here's the pic of the milestone. I was proud of myself, but i know that completion is still far away. 

I think that in the next update we will se a bit more colors done and more of the green scenery behind/through the window glass.

End of the year last post.

Hello stitchers! 

Finally we have reached the end of this year. Let's take a deep breath. It was hard, i know that, but i'm sure that We all did good use of all the time spent in hour houses. 
Let's not focus too much on this right now but dive right in the new update.

Let's start with WWAVMC: 

I've finished another full row and started woring on the new one with some diagonals before realizing that i wasn't enjoying so much anymore the sight of all those white, off-whites and light pink colors. So, at the moment the window is on a hopefully short hiatus while i get my mojo back to work on this.
I then switched again to Spiders Queen, that i neglected. I know, i know, i said that i'd work every night on her, but that wasn't the case. I think i'm making good progress on her, nonetheless.

What do you think?

The bright colors in there had cheered me up a bit, even though SQ, as it is like at the moment it's not looking so pretty with all the withe fabric showing through between colors that will be filled in.




I really hope that the new year brings us all some time of calmness, peace and more time to stitch.

End of September update.

 Hello stitchers!

Finally the weather is more chill, meaning that the cold will be here soon (I hope). The start of a new seasons has something magical when you can feel it in the air.


I'm here today to show you my latest progress on my haed wips.
Let's start with Spiders Queen:  

This pic was taken at the end of July and shows the first and second row of pages completed.

Here is where SQ is at the moment, with more 310 and 3341, plus a bit of other red and orange colors in between, added.
Those nails, even though they still are in the initial stage of the stitching are quite impressive in size!

Let's now continue with WWAVMC:
 

More partial diagonals have been stitched, with many, many colors and confetti stitches... Totally worth it, if I so myself. 

The flowery bush is a bit slow-going, but the window's frame and the background are a bit less time consuming because there's less colors changes. In the end it's a nice compromise.
(The pic doesn't make justice at the piece, at all).



What are your stitching plan for this autumn/fall season? 
I still don't know if there will be new seasonal start, but for now I'll be stitching and enjoy it at best as I can, for sure.

The Queen is back.

Hello stitchers!

After completing another diagonal on wwawmc, i've decided that it was time to bring backin rotation Spiders Queen.
In the last couple of days i've worked on both wips and i'm happy with how they are coming up.

Eight months has come and gone since the last time i worked on SQ, it was a little "strange" switching from working full corsses to tent half stitches. It's like in the meantime i've lost the habit to tent stitch so i'm not so quick as i would like, but the progress so far is making the process still enjoyable, thus i'm not complaining too much.
I'm filling all the white spaces left and working on adding the colors needed on the second eye.

It's nice seeing some "0" on Pattern Keeper for the first time!


Soon it will be the 5ooth day on working on wwavmc and even though the end is far away, i'm still hoping for a near future finish, (a couple years from now will be good, from my point of view).
After completing the last diagonal i've started the next right away. I still can't put wwavmc away.

Both projects now are at just over 37%, it' interesting.
I'll try to stitch on both my big haed wips, alternating them... If only the want for a quick, nice finish is tormenting my thoughts since last week. Let's hope i can stick to my own rules!

First part of a challenge.

Today, July 5th marks the end of the first part of the Giro d'Italia challenge.
The second part will start in September (really looking forward to a more chill and cool weather).

It was fun seeing the pic come to life stitch after stitch. The castle is almost complete, it will be done within the next diagonal.
Right now this wip has 93595 stitches completed and it's still a pleasure working on it.

I know i have to stitch on other projects, but it's difficult to put this away. I need to think about what to do.

Challenges: finished and starting.

Hello stitchers!

Since the last post, i've been stitching almost non-stop mostly because i really like how WWAVMC is turning out and due Italy being in quarantine.

First 12000 crosses were stitched between the 1st of January through the 1st of February. I thought that i would fail, but no, i did it!

Then i was able to fully complete the first row of pages.

In the last couple of days I've also took part in the "Last minute" challenge that requested 1500 crosses to be stitched through March 24th to the 28th.

Where i'm now, after 1500 crosses.

On March 30th will being the "Giro d'Italia" challenge: 20 legs representing the 20 regional capitals of Italy.
The number of stitches represent each km of distance from city to city, plus a "0" to make the numbers more interesting.

Last post of 2019.

Hello stitchers!

As the title says, this will my last post of the current year.

I've decided to stop stitching for these last days, but don't worry! I'll be starting again once 2020 will be here.
I already have plans to start stitching again on WWAVMC because i'll participate in a fb group challenge that will require a total of 12000 crosses done in a two months time frame.
I don't know how well i'll do, but i'm positive that i'll make some good progress.

This is where the window is at the moment, with a total of 48180 crosses stitched as of Dec. 14th. I'm happy with the result i've achieved until now, stitching speaking.

I'll be sure to be more consistent with blog updates in the new year.

Little update.

Hello stitchers!

Now that we entered the final month of the year, i'll show you where i am at the moment with my current project, WWAVMC. The window is my main focus, i just want to stitch more and more on this wip, even if the progress are a bit slow.

Here's the latest pic, taken on the 30th of November with 45905 crosses already done.

More challenges completed and news.

Hello stitchers!

It's been quite some time since my last post but i kept stitching and hopefully you did that too.


Let's see what i've been up to:

-Finished the Stitchig Gainz challenge;

-Finished the second part of the #100daysofHAED challenge;

-Finished the #StitchAroundTheWorld challenge.

All three were done on Spiders Queen and here she is at the moment:

-Finished the 2500 crosses challenge in the "For the love of diagonal stitching" fb group.

-Finished the 2000 crosses for the month of November working on the diagonal on 

WWAWMC.

Yes, i've converted this project from a sort of cross country to diagonal. This stitching method is now my way to go to face the many changes of colors of the Max Colors chart. Yes, there are many instance of threading and re-threading the needle but working every little row after row (10 crosses wide) down the diagonal without leaving blank holes in the squares is perfect for me and it reduces the risk of missing a stitch.

The other news i want to share with you all is that i'm now using Pattern Keeper to search and mark my stitches. This app is simple to use but it's become a great help. There's also a fb group for support, in case you need it.
If you stitch you must try it, i promise you won't regret spending a little sum for puchasing this app after the two weesk trial.
Sadly, at the moment this wonderful app is only available for Android (after the 5.0 release) or, if you're like me and stitch from a pc, you can download  it after having installed Bluestacks 4.
